CASE – Thinking Science
Keeping Balanced
A wooden beam which is drilled at the centre and at eight equally spaced positions on either side.
Pressure Toadstools
The set consists of five toadstools with stem diameters of 5mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 20mm, each 10 cm in length. Each toadstool, apart from the 5 mm diameter toadstool, is marked up the stem in 5 mm divisions by means of a self adhesive label, while the diameter and cross sectional area of each stem is clearly marked on top.
Up Hill and Down Dale
Two linked tracks, the slopes of which can be independently varied over a wide range by use of the support bars. The pulley wheel support – bracket is an integral part of the hinge so only one clamp is required to support the equipment on the stand.
Floating and Sinking
Thirteen white plastic bottles (only six are shown in the photograph) Six graduated in size from 100 ml to 750 ml and five 750 ml bottles, all with the same basic shape. Two additional bottles make up the set.
