In the section “Energy in the Environment” pupils are expected to be familiar with the renewable energy sources that are available to us. This model illustrates clearly the possibility of harnessing electrical power from the wind.
By use of this geared motor a 6V bulb (supplied) or a LED can be lit by directing a fast moving stream of air at the propeller (also supplied). A hair dryer, at cool setting, can be used to produce the stream of air but a linear air track blower is even better.
