Our Planetary System – An Interactive CD
Outcome SCN-06a expects pupils to use a simple model to demonstrate an understanding of our planetary system.
The model “Our Planetary System” (Code No. 700/05) as detailed in this section certainly covers this outcome. However the CD can be used to reinforce the knowledge gained or even as an alternative with the advantage of whole class participation at a lower cost.
Series / Parallel Circuits
In the “Energy in the Environment” section pupils are expected to be able to measure the current and voltage in series and parallel circuits and to show the advantages of using, in some instances, a parallel circuit as opposed to a series circuit.
Model House
In the section “Energy in the Environment” pupils are expected to understand the basic concepts of designing an energy efficient building.
Wind Power
In the section “Energy in the Environment” pupils are expected to be familiar with the renewable energy sources that are available to us. This model illustrates clearly the possibility of harnessing electrical power from the wind
