In the section “Energy in the Environment” pupils are expected to be familiar with the renewable energy sources that are available to us. This model illustrates clearly the possibility of harnessing electrical power from the sun.

Designed in anticipation of the imminent introduction of the Curriculum for Excellence programme this model of our planetary system fits well into the Planet Earth section where the pupils are expected to use a simple model to communicate an understanding of size, scale and relative motion of the planets.
